As an active and passionate supporter of the Rural Life Centre, Ken Wood wanted to rescue a vintage locomotive for the Old Kiln Railway. He used the Home & Capital home reversion plan to release 20% of the equity in his Surrey home.
The money enabled him to contribute to the museum's collection whilst also reducing his inheritance tax bill. At the same time it still leaves a substantial proportion of the value of his home for his beneficiaries. Especially as his home has increased in value by 20% since the plan took effect.
